Allow companies to access some of their un-used levy to pay apprentice wages.
As a short term Covid-19 support intervention, will the government consider allowing companies to utilise some of their un-used levy to pay salaries, allowing apprentices to complete the development of their knowledge, skills & behaviours and avoiding redundancy.
Many of these organisations are returning hundreds of thousands of pounds on a monthly basis back to the government, in levy that has been un-spent.
Whilst I appreciate much of this is to fund apprenticeships in non-levy paying organisations, it's vital we continue to support individuals who have invested a huge amount of time in recent years to develop their skills but now find themselves unable to complete their apprenticeship and face months of unemployment.
