Hold a referendum to allow Northern England to claim independence
Northern England should be allowed to hold a referendum on whether we should claim independence from England and form our own country within the UK. Northern England is always forgotten about in the south including Downing Street. The government does not fund or maintain northern England properly.
We in northern England pay taxes, yet the south spends it. It is time to hold a referendum in Northern England !
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Your petition calls for independence for Northern England, but then refers to forming a new country as part of the UK.
We have already published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:
Hold a referendum on creating a Devolved Parliament for Northern England: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/555283
Hold on a referendum on an Independent North of England: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/556284
If you want the Government or House of Commons to take an action different to the above, you could start a new petition about this, but it would need to be clear what action you wanted the Government to take.
