Introduce National Insurance payment for automated manufacturing equipment.
It is an obvious conclusion for the future that many jobs currently performed by people will become automated.
Over time the loss to the nation of NI Contributions will represent a very significant financial problem.
The Government must act to introduce NI contributions on behalf of machines.
Any new method of Taxation must be introduced by the Government through Parliament

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to include a clear request for action.
We understand that you are concerned about the potential loss of National Insurance revenue resulting from automation, but it's not clear exactly what you want the Government to do about this.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to impose a levy on industries that are heavily reliant on automated machinery, if that is what you want to happen.
It is worth noting that income from National Insurance contributions would only be lost if unemployment increased as a result of automation, so that people who were previously in employment and paying National Insurance contributions no longer were.
