Stop the £25 food allowance for Mp's in order to help children who go hungry.
MPs can claim this allowance for food if they stay overnight outside their constituency or London for parliamentary work up to £25 a day. Any worker who isn't an MP not only have to pay for travel expense out of their wages but food too so why should MP's get this priviledge
fullfact.org estimated that this equates to over £800,000 per year. This money could go towards providing meals/packed lunches or some kind of meal for children during holidays. Many parents work long hours and can barely afford rent and go hungry to try and provide food for their children. Why should families who work their fingers to the bone scrape by when MP's have the means to afford food yet they get to benefit from tax payers money.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for setting MPs' pay or expenses. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
You can find out more about IPSA here: www.theipsa.org.uk/about-us/
MPs may claim for the cost of purchasing food and non-alcoholic drinks where they have stayed overnight outside the London Area and their constituency. This is limited to £25 for each night they have stayed, but the claims can be for purchases made during the day.
