To ensure all supermarkets donate unsold food to food banks/ charities
To introduce a similar law to one in France which has been the first country in the world to make it a legal requirement for supermarkets to donate all unsold food to food banks and charities.
According to the Trussell Trust 1.9 million people were given an emergency 3-day food parcel in the last year 2019-2020, this is a 18% increase than the previous year. This is simple because people can not afford food.

Although using food banks is not sustainable for the long term, it would make a huge difference if supermarkets could donate food and put back into the food system. And help those in need.
