Teach about period stigma, poverty and health problems related to periods
I would like the government to make it mandatory through the national curriculum to learn about period poverty and the effect it has on girls' lives, period stigma and the problems that can create and the different health problems related to periods like: PMS, endometriosis, PMDD.
I think this is important to include boys in the conversation because otherwise it creates a stigma around periods, which can lead to problems like period poverty where girls feel too embarrassed to say they can't afford sanitary pads, so they use other things like toilet paper or socks which can cause toxic shock syndrome, also girls can feel embarrassed to go to the doctors when there might be something seriously wrong, which can mean that they might not get a much needed diagnoses.
