Authorised absence for Children in school term time
Full reversal of the law which came into force on September 1, 2013 meaning Headteachers no longer have the discretion to grant up to 10 days of authorised leave to pupils each year, within normal term time.
This law penalises the vast majority of hard working families who take their children's education seriously and and we demand it to be reversed.
Common sense rules and guidance should be provided for Headteachers where pupils not reaching a high level of attendance or an acceptable level attainment would be refused the extra 10 days leave.
