Petition Action

Reconsider the closing of gyms and instead, class them as essential.

Petition Details

Reconsider the closure of gyms during the second lockdown and any future lockdowns and see how they are essential to peoples physical and mental health especially during this pandemic. There is zero scientific data to suggest that closing gyms will have any impact on stopping the spread of Covid 19.

Additional Information

Gyms are a very big part of thousands of peoples lives, not only for physical health, but for mental health too. Gyms have been one the places with lowest transmission rates of COVID-19
The impact a closure will have on people’s mental and physical health will be detrimental. During a time like the present, when we are restricted and separated from those who truly matter, the gym is a place to escape and minimise depression, whilst releasing endorphins and improving health all round.
