Keep Swimming Pools Open through November Covid19 Lockdown
The opening of pools has proved to have been well managed and executed. Swimming pools offer a unique non-impact whole body exercise to both able bodied and disabled people of all ages within a light safe environment. The water contact is known to have positive mental health benefits.
To prevent issues with mental and physical health and offer safe exercise environments. The Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group state that: “The available evidence shows that the physical effect of the pool water and an appropriate relationship between free chlorine and pH value should inactivate the virus within 15-30 seconds. The dilution of virus in the pool water volume will also reduce the risk of exposure and transmission.” Air circulation in pool halls is high to stop airborne infection.
