Allow gyms to stay open during lockdown. They are essential for mental wellness.
Many people with mental health problems use the gym to improve their state of mind and as a place to go to feel safe. Gyms can be ventilated and social distancing plus regular cleaning can be used to keep everyone safe. Please consider allowing gyms to remain open.
Lockdown is having severe impacts on all areas of society, especially on people’s mental health. This is a time when gyms may be the only thing keeping people well in some cases and are absolutely essential for those who are struggling with mental health. They can be used in a safe way with social distancing and cleaning, please reconsider closing them.
