The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Since you started your petition, the national lockdown in England has ended. Under the local tier restrictions introduced from 2 December, sporting facilities can reopen and indoor and outdoor sport can restart, though there are restrictions on indoor activities in the highest risk areas (tier 3). See
www.gov.uk/guidance/local-restriction-tiers-what-you-need-to-know
You could start a new petition calling for changes to the local tier approach, if there are changes you wish to see happen.
