Extend H2B Equity loan and Re introduce the H2B Mortgage Guarantee Scheme
Extend Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme in its current form for a further 2 yrs and re-introduce Help to Buy Mortgage Guarantee Scheme to help fix the Mortgage Market. The housing market will not struggle due to demand, it will be struggling with people not being unable to obtain reasonable finance.
Families in the housing market are finding it very difficult to plan due to the economic impact COVID-19 is having on the Mortgage Market. Lenders are becoming restrictive resulting in a mini Credit Crunch. Many people want to purchase their homes, but are unable to do so due to large deposits being required, rates increasing not decreasing even though the Bank of England has reduced BoE base rate to historically low levels, lenders are being very cautious in their decisions.
