Be allowed to see relatives in care homes, even for a short amount of time.
To be allowed to see my mum during covid 19. For people to be allowed to see relatives in a care home once a week, even for 15 minutes like at the start of the lockdown. This seems to have been forgotten about and now I haven’t seen my mum since august.
Because I haven’t hugged my mum since March, I have seen her 4 times for 15 minutes each time since March and haven’t seen her at all since august. I feel like care homes have been forgotten about during covid and there are more talks about gyms. I need my mum and my mum needs me.
Please can we arrange a safe environment to see each other even for 15 minutes again.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government published new guidance at the start of December covering arrangements for visiting care homes in England. This guidance notes that visiting should be supported and enabled wherever it is possible to do so safely, including indoor visits in all local tiers where the visitor has been tested and returned a negative result. See
www.gov.uk/government/publications/visiting-care-homes-during-coronavirus/update-on-policies-for-visiting-arrangements-in-care-homes
If there are changes you would like to see to this guidance, you could start a new petition calling for those changes.
