Petition Action

Allow Soft Tissue Therapists to open during lockdown as essential healthcare.

Petition Details

Allow Soft Tissue Therapists including Sports Therapists, Sports Massage Therapists & Remedial Therapists to remain open during a lockdown as essential healthcare for treating musculoskeletal injuries and pain.

Additional Information

Soft Tissue Therapy is used as an alternative form of healthcare to prevent and manage musculoskeletal pain and injuries. It is not the same as beauty therapy and therapists provide a vast majority of the treatments that Physios, Chiropractors and Osteopaths do (all of whom are permitted to remain open). Many people will visit a Soft Tissue Therapist on recommendation of a GP and many use these services as an alternative to an NHS Physio. Staying open will ease the burden on the NHS!

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

Since you started your petition, the national lockdown in England has ended. You could call for changes to the local tier restrictions introduced from 2 December, if there are specific changes you would like to see happen.
