Keep all schools and colleges open in England
To ensure schools and colleges are kept open in a Covid-secure environment with extra measures in place, will positively impact on education and also the mental health and wellbeing of pupils and parents.
We need to ensure this generation of young people are allowed access to face to face teaching.
Many children and young people have experienced loneliness during lockdown and have also been affected by lack of physical contact with their friends, families and peers. 41% of children reported feeling more stressed about schoolwork and exams since schools closed. Children in England are three months behind in their studies after lockdown, suggests a survey of teachers by an educational research organisation. The Government has said that children must not lose out because of coronavirus.
