Managers must allow chiropodists into care homes - essential basic care
Chiropodists have not been allowed into many homes since March. Parliament MUST order care homes to allow them in as part of their core offer of care.
Care homes do not allow carers to cut toenails
They are refusing chiropodists access to cut toenails and have been since March.
This is affecting health and wellbeing. Diabetics must have their feet regularly attended to or they are in grave danger of losing limbs. Other residents will find themselves unable to walk and long and ingrowing toenails cause great pain.
There is a danger of serious infection.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Government guidance and regulations allow visits to take place, but decisions on access to care homes are a matter for providers.
