Allow University Students to go home for Lockdown
This is a plea from students across the country. Please allow us to come home in term time for Lockdown. The University halls will be a lonely experience for most of us being stuck in our rooms with little contact from others. Subsequently damaging our mental health.
Our mental health is an important necessity in this lockdown, for everyone. Using our families as a support system will be crucial for our wellbeing. Students have died in halls because of their depleting mental state; repercussions of being isolated with no one else to support them. This is why I urge you to allow us to come home. We should not be locked up in our accommodation. We are not cash cows for education.
We are not a statistic. We are the future of your country.
