Prosecute University students who break the Covid law
It is a well known fact that some students are deliberately visiting infected households in order to catch the virus and to quote “ Get it out of the way” I believe students must be forced to obey the law otherwise be subject to the full force of the law.
Pass emergency legislation allowing the law to prosecute both individual students and colleges for breach of the Covid isolation laws.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about whether to investigate alleged breaches of Covid-19 rules is a matter for local police forces, and decisions about whether to prosecute alleged offenders is a matter for the Crown Prosecution Service, not the Government or House of Commons.
If you believe someone has breached Covid-19 restrictions you could report this to the police.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to give local authorities powers to fine educational institutions for failing to prevent students from breaching Covid-19 restrictions, if that is something you want to happen.
