Petition Action

call for change to the Academies Act so that schooling hours conicide with that governed by LEA

Additional Information

call for change to the Academies act 2010 so that obligatory Academy school hours for Primary pupils coincide with that of schools run by LEA and that any school attendance outside of those hours is optional and not obligatory e.g. any sessions classed as "extra curricular" or "enrichment activities" take place outside of the legally required 380 session over 190 days and therefore making such sessions optional for attendance. In the very least we call for the government to revoke Academies power of "free reign" and oblige them to teach to the same legislation as LEA governed schools.
