Petition Action

Allow pubs and restaurants to sell takeaway alcohol during 2nd Lockdown.

Petition Details

This was a life line that kept many establishments viable during the first Lockdown. Let's have something to look forward to when eventually we'll be allowed out to meet our family and friends.

Additional Information

This was allowed during the first Lockdown so why are you not permitting it this time? It keeps establishments open, keeps jobs viable and allows a little joy to all of us locked down.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The new regulations that have been put in place for the current lockdown allow licensed premises to sell alcohol provided this is pre-ordered by the customer: www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/1200/pdfs/uksi_20201200_en.pdf
