Petition Action

To allow Gyms & Swimming Pools to Operate during the lockdown

Petition Details

To exempt Gyms and Swimming Pools from having to close due to the second lockdown starting on Thursday.
Or to see their swift reopening in the next two weeks, with financial and practical support from the UK Government.

Additional Information

The UK population is struggling with two major issues: obesity and mental health. Gyms and Swimming Pools provide important solutions to both those issues.
Grouping Health Facilities together with Pubs, Bars and Restaurants is insulting, as it does not take into account the essential nature of what they provide.
It is unrealistic to expect the public to only exercise outdoors during winter months in the UK.
With regulations in place to reduce transmission, Gyms and Pools should operate.
