Reinstate swings at children’s playgrounds.
Recommend to local councils that the swings removed during the first lockdown are reinstated in children’s playgrounds.
It’s a small thing but would really make a difference to children and parents’ experience of playgrounds, particularly now we are In a second lockdown and activities are limited.
The rationale behind the removal of these doesn’t make sense now that children are mixing both on other playground equipment and in schools. The two metre distance for adults can still be adhered to when using these with children.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about the installation or removal of facilities at children's playgrounds is a matter for individual local authorities, not the Government or House of Commons.
The Government has published advice for local authorities on managing playgrounds, which suggests that measures local authorities might take include limiting the available number of seats on equipment or numbers of swings available to promote social distancing: www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-for-managing-playgrounds-and-outdoor-gyms/covid-19-guidance-for-managing-playgrounds-and-outdoor-gyms
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to amend this guidance, if that is something you would like to happen.
