Petition Action

Furlough personnel should face higher tax deductions in future not keyworkers!

Petition Details

On the 23rd March 2020 our chancellor Rishi sunak announced that employers can claim a grant covering 80% of the wages for a furloughed employee , subject to a cap of £2,500 a month ,

The financial burden of the furlough scheme should NOT be passed on to key workers

Additional Information

We would like the government not to pass the furlough debt / subsequent increaes in taxes onto the key workers
It should not be the responsibility of they key workers to pay back these taxes in future years.

We have been faced with our own challenges and risked our lives to keep the country going since the start of the pandemic and risked the lives of our loved ones in order to do this .
We should not have to pay additional tax in future years to cover the costs of the Furlough scheme
