Petition Action

Make it illegal for fireworks to be set off on days other than Nov 5 and Dec 31

Petition Details

Make it illegal for fireworks to be set off on days other than traditional dates where they are used - fireworks night (November 5th) and new year’s eve (December 31st).

Additional Information

Fireworks can traumatise people and animals. They are set off so often now, it’s impossible to prepare & protect those they negatively affect. This year (2020) we are on the 11th consecutive night of them in my community. It gets worse each year and public sentiment is rapidly turning against them. Limiting their use to 2 set dates would allow people to enjoy them, and give those they traumatise the chance to put measures in place to protect themselves.
