Support for landlords during Covid 19 restrictions. .

Petition Details

UK GOV is going out of its way to offer financial support via furlough to jobless /loans to self employed etc during these unprecedented times .However, there is no support for landlord who are expected to be supportive of non paying tenants and also keep up with mortgage &maintainence costs

Additional Information

landlords neither have rental income nor can evict tenants to cut their losses due to the anti eviction rules.Present rules are heavily tenant sided&have no consideration for the interest of landlord or his “personal”property.
If the GOV stance is that evicting non paying tenant isn’t right during these difficult times, then it must equally find suitable way to compensate the losses of private landlords(loss of rent/eviction costs /mortgage costs /maintenance costs )for no fault of their own .

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand you'd like support for landlords, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to provide.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
