Allow a 16 year old with a CBT to ride a 125cc or de-restrict 50cc bikes
We want to allow 16 year olds who have passed their CBT to be permitted to ride a 125cc or a de-restricted 50cc bike.Current laws and restrictions cause a safety issue on the roads which should be corrected.
Too many accidents occur from 50CC bikes and mopeds as they are simply travelling at a dangerous speed.
28mph, is far too slow to be safe on the roads, drivers of other vehicles show very little care and respect towards inexperienced riders. They make dangerous moves to overtake these riders on the road which can put the lives of both parties at risk.
The extra 15mph you can get through de-restriction allows users to keep up with the flow of traffic.Increasing safety for all users on our roads
Young riders(under 25) account for 57% of motorists KSIs with an engine size below 125cc and 53% of these accidents occur at slower speeds in urban areas resulting in serious injuries
