Ensure one to one nursing in intensive care remains in place at all times
It is imperative for patient and staff safety the one to one nursing care in place in intensive care units remains in place at all times
During the Covid 19 pandemic which has caused considerable strain on resources and nursing staff patient safety has been prioritised at all times however NHS England has revised the one nurse to one patient guidance. This is likely to lead to increase in patient morbidity and mortality and has serious potential to lead to unsafe working conditions for staff

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about staffing and patient care for NHS providers is a matter for NHS England and individual NHS trusts, not the Government or House of Commons.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to provide additional funding for NHS providers to ensure that they are able to continue providing one-to-one care in intensive care.
