Petition Action

Epileptic seizure first aid for all staff in childcare and education settings

Petition Details

Fund all staff in every childcare and education setting access to government funded specialist epileptic seizure first aid training.

Specialist training to be included in the mandatory staff first-aid training programmes for staff in childcare and education settings

Additional Information

In the UK, around one in every 240 children under the age of 16 will be diagnosed with epilepsy. Some of them will be babies, some will be teenagers, with many others in between.

The school and epilepsy experience can be embarrassing / traumatic. Children can end up absolutely hating school because of a lack of education around epilepsy. Parents also have varying levels of anxiety and worry when leaving their child in these settings.

Let's change that.
