Allow partners to attend NHS fertility appointments under current COVID rules
To allow partners to attend fertility appointments within NHS
How come two people can’t attend a fertility appointment? But can go shopping to Poundland or B&Q for ‘essential’. You are giving news about a potential pregnancy but one member of the couple isn’t allowed to attend. Potentially, the female is being told that the process hasn’t worked on her own and has to make decisions on her own without a male partner being involved.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Under the current national restrictions people are allowed to leave their home to accompany them to a medical appointment: www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november
The arrangements for visitors at individual NHS practices is a matter for NHS England and the relevant NHS trust, not the Government or House of Commons. You should check with your fertility unit for their policy on visitors attending births.
