Covid test relatives of care home residents

Petition Details

The Government is spending time and money to enable students to go home for Christmas, why can't the same be done for people who have relations in care homes? I would have thought that was just as important if not more so

Additional Information

The mental health of residents in care homes is suffering greatly from not being able to have visitors. If the government is willing to help students see their parents at Christmas for that very same reason why won't they do the same for care home residents so they can see their loved ones?

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Since you started this petition, the Government has announced a pilot scheme to provide testing to relatives of care home residents. It is planned that this scheme will then be rolled out nationally in December: www.gov.uk/government/news/pilot-for-family-members-to-get-regular-testing-for-safer-care-home-visits

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
