Require all car/van insurance providers to provide quotes for Electric vehicles.
Require all car/van insurance providers that provide insurance for diesel or Petrol vehicles to provide competitive quotes for Electric vehicles.
As somebody looking to buy van insurance on a modified electric vehicle I came across the issue that most specialist vehicle insurance simply don't insure electric vehicles. It's also the case that "standard" insurers wouldn't quote me when I modified the vehicle.
I was therefore left with a very small pool of possible providers, meaning I am financially punished for purchasing a more environmentally friendly vehicle.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Decisions on whether to offer insurance are a matter for individual providers.
