Petition Action

Special leave for keyworkers during childcare closure due to Covid.

Petition Details

At the moment nhs has been asking the staffs to take their annual leave or take unpaid leave for school or nursery closure due to Covid.

Additional Information

Keyworkers both nhs and others have played and all still playing a crucial role in helping us fight this pandemic, also will continue doing so in future.
School/childcare closure due to Covid is a situation when the keyworkers need help. It is extremely unfair that they are having to take annual leave and unpaid leave in this situation.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is a matter for employers.

You could start a petition calling for the Government to extend the furlough scheme for people who cannot work due to childcare requirements, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
