Make microchips trackable for lost/stolen pets
I see so many pets being stolen or lost, a lot of them run off due to being scared, making the microchips trackable like a Sat Nav so you can follow where the animal is.
It would bring so many owners piece of mind to know their pet can be tracked if lost or stolen, plus help police find stolen pets.
If a pet is injured they can be saved much more quickly also.
Although microchipping your pet is mandatory, a lot of owners don't microchip their pets if the knowledge of tracking the pet if lost, it may bring microchipping numbers up.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
It's not currently technologically possible for pet microchips to be GPS-enabled, but you could start a petition calling for the Government to make it a legal requirement for pets to wear GPS devices, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
