Review the current plan for tunnelling the A303 beside Stonehenge
The current plan to bury the A303 in a tunnel next to Stonehenge was opposed by the Planning Inspectorate. Parliament should scrutinise the plans thoroughly to ensure no archaeological damage is likely to adjacent sites and that no long term harm will come to the World Heritage Site.
Over the last half century more and more archaeological discoveries have taken place in the wider Stonehenge area. Government must ensure that no damage is done to the historical record and sites possibly undiscovered.
