Replace key Chinese imports with home-grown products to alleviate unemployment
Start a program to replace products we import from China by creating new, clean, green industries in the UK. This needs to be run in parallel with a training and apprenticeship program to improve the skill-base of the young people who are unemployed due to Covid & improve the balance of payments.
Set up a Project team to analyse the Chinese imports data and set up a few pilot projects to replace certain chosen products with home-grown ones. They will of course be made in new, green, reduced carbon businesses.
