Petition Action

Require supermarkets and restaurants to donate food waste to charity

Petition Details

In France supermarkets must donate unsold food to charity, but in the UK, Every year, 100,000 tonnes of readily available and edible food from the UK's retail and food manufacturing sector is wasted – equivalent to 250 million meals going uneaten.

Additional Information

The government should force supermarkets to donate unsold food to charity and food banks, as far too much food is going wasted while many are going hungry
