Protect the Great British funfair and circus.
We believe that fairgrounds and circuses have not been supported by the government or given an equal opportunity to operate during 2020. Showmen are part of the Great British culture and should be recognised for the role they provide to families that visit their fairs and circuses annually.
The Government hasn't recognised the societal importance of fairs and circuses, and the sectors that support them. Showmen have the right to be treated equally, and the government should make an equal provision and not create a situation that such provision is withheld from them.
This doesn't mean that the state has to grant all a right to gain their living by work which they choose or accept, but if it does grant that right to some, it must not withhold it from others in a similar situation.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the impact of Covid-19, and related decisions by the Government, on funfairs, circuses and showmen, but it's not clear what you want the Government to do about this.
We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
Allow Funfairs to stay open: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/553952
If you want the Government to take another action you could start a new petition stating clearly what you want the Government to do.
