Make GCSE Citizenship mandatory in Secondary Schools

Petition Details

All Key Stage 4 students should be required to take GCSE Citizenship.

Additional Information

Citizenship is already a required subject at KS4, however requiring students to study the GCSE could:
- Make young people even more informed about political affairs
- Increase political participation and voter turnout.
- Aid the awareness of young people and helps them to become more active citizens.
- Reduce the appeal of extremist ideologies and promoting a better understanding of the democratic process.
