Publish contracts issued during the Coronavirus pandemic
Publish and, where appropriate, independently investigate contracts signed during the Coronavirus pandemic that did not have adequate parliamentary scrutiny.
The government has contracted millions of pounds of tax payers' money during the pandemic with no parliamentary scrutiny, often to friends or relatives of MPs. The country needs to understand where, and to whom, this money has gone.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
In the title of your petition you request the publication of contracts granted during Covid-19, but you go on to ask for independent investigations where these have not been subject to adequate parliamentary scrutiny.
In general, Government contracts are not subject to parliamentary scrutiny, so it is not clear exactly which contracts you want to be investigated.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to hold a public inquiry into Government contracts granted during Covid-19, which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/328408
The National Audit Office has investigated and produced a report on government procurement during the COVID-19 pandemic, which you might be interested in: www.nao.org.uk/report/government-procurement-during-the-covid-19-pandemic/
We could accept a petition calling for the publication of all contracts granted during the Covid-19 outbreak, but it would need to be clear from the whole text of your petition exactly what you want the Government to do.
