Petition Action

No mention of Christmas before 1st December

Petition Details

Before 1st December each calendar year:
- Ban the mentioning of Christmas on TV, radio and social media.
- Ban the wearing of Christmas jumpers
- Ban shops from displaying Christmas goods
- Ban the displaying of Christmas decorations

Additional Information

Christmas takes up the whole of December, and that is sufficient. It should not be allowed beyond that.
It causes unnecessary stress and pressure.
Anyone not adhering to the rules should be locked up until 1st January, thereby depriving them of all festivities.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Government is not responsible for when people or organisations start talking about, promoting or celebrating Christmas. This is a matter for individual and individual organisations, not the Government or House of Commons.
