Allow first time buyers access to funds locked in a pension as a home deposit.
The government should allow people under the age of 55 to access their pension savings for the purpose of purchasing a first home without the fear of massive tax penalties.
Saving for a deposit to buy a first home is difficult for everyone. But many people have money locked in a pension that could be used as the deposit. Owning your home would mean that you will not have to pay rent in retirement, so using your pension to buy a first home should be allowed.
