Petition Action

Make all Armed Forces Service Pensions (including Lump Sum) Tax exempt

Petition Details

I think it would be right and just, that all Armed Services Pension schemes, including the Lump Sum payment at maturity/end of service, should be tax exempt. Service personnel go above and beyond during their service to Queen and Country.

Additional Information

I believe all Armed Services pensions should be tax exempt. We gave our service, unquestionably, to Her Majesty and her Government. Yet when we become Civilians we are forgotten and taxed for our service. This is wrong. No other employee in civilian life goes through the hardships and troubles of being a member of HM Armed Forces.
