Petition Action

Reconsider the restrictions on the hospitality sector

Petition Details

We call on the Government to reconsider the restrictions in respect of pubs and restruants in the hospitality sector. The current tier two restrictions are devastating and will not facilitate the ongoing sustainability. This impacts licensed premises and extends through the total supply chain.

Additional Information

The current impacts are potentially permanently damaging to the sector and the supply chain beyond. Many millions of jobs are at risk which will inevitably impact thousands of families, often the most vulnerable in our communities, depending on employment in all areas. The unintended consequences could be irrecoverable. Property and real estate sector is at very serious risk, should these businesses seek to deliver.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned but the impact of restrictions on the hospitality sector in Tier 2 areas, but it's not clear how you want the Government to change these.

We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Do not require pubs and bars in Tier 2 to only serve alcohol with a meal: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/561619

If you want restrictions to be changed in a different way to that requested by the above petition you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
