Keep cinemas open in all tiers

Petition Details

Allow cinemas to remain open under all tiers of the restrictions introduced on 2 December, not just tiers 1 and 2.

Additional Information

Cinemas are a great form of escapism and have been proven to benefit mental health. Before lockdown closed cinemas they all had a very high level of cleanliness and respect for the distancing rules. No cases have ever been confirmed to have been contracted due to a cinema visit.

Aside from the small amount of time spent in the foyer cinemas are almost perfectly capable of adhering to distancing with measures such as sitting apart from others, ventilated rooms and deep cleaning.
