Amend the Road Traffic Act to Include Cats: make it illegal to hit & run.
The current legislation requires drivers to stop and report any dog, horse, cattle and sheep. We would like to add Cats to this list. Although the statistics may grossly underestimate the actual number due to lack of reporting way 230,000 per year are killed on our roads, thats 630 per day.
There has been a huge rise during the Covid-19 Lock down of car related deaths hitting the domestic cat population.
After loosing Tyson we would like to ensure this loss is not felt by other pet lovers.
DEFRA should amend legislation to provide greater protection to cats.
