Scrap end of year exams for secondary schools

Petition Details

Scrap end of year exams for secondary schools. Due to year 11 students being sent home on several occasions this year and missing valuable classroom time end of year exams should be scrapped and gcse results be based on the mock exam results, course work and teacher assessments.

Additional Information

Year 11 end of year exams should be scrapped and results based on mock results, coursework and teacher assessment like the previous academic year. This would bring England in line with Scotland and Wales who have already scrapped end of year exams. Year 11 students around the country are being told to stay away from school then allowed back the sent away again due to covid this is having an adverse affect not just on learning but also on the mental health of 1000s of children.
