Give students a probation period before the accommodation contract binds them
Students should be given a probation period (at least two weeks) to change their mind in case of strong dissatisfaction after a live experience. Most universities offer student accommodation with a fixed-term contract that does not allow students to terminate the contract freely.
It seems as if the universities were dependent on the income from the residences, no matter how the residents are satisfied. They have lost the motivation to care about how the residents actually feel, and they would not change anything, as this is how it suits them. Therefore, it us up to the government to change it.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about tenancy agreements for university accommodation is a matter for universities and other accommodation providers, not the Government or House of Commons.
