Help hospitality

Petition Details

Our trade has been so restricted that we can’t afford to pay staff wages and bills.
We need extra staff to maintain the table service that has been forced with no financial help to pay wages and bills

Additional Information

Shops have no restrictions and are allowed to trade as normal. Off licences and supermarkets are allowed to sell cheep alcohol but pubs have been limited so badly, that people are scared to come out. We have been made to put so many restrictions in place that it’s safer to be in a pub than most shops. We have implemented distance between tables which has limited the capacity. Forced people to wear masks to go to the bathroom. Got in extra staff that we can’t afford to wait tables. All this at our own cost and still they blame pubs for the spread. WE NEED A BREAK!!!!

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the impact of Covid-19 restrictions on the hospitality sector, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Give further financial support to the Events and Hospitality industry: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/329985

Provide additional support to pubs, restaurants and all hospitality sectors: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/552314

Remove household mixing restrictions and 10pm curfew for hospitality sector: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/555671

If you want the Government to take an action not covered by the above you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
