Petition Action

No MP, Govt Advisor or Party Donor to profit from the Coronavirus pandemic.

Petition Details

To debate the profiteering of the Coronavirus pandemic by MPS, Govt advisors (all, including SAGE) and Party Donors. To profit financially during these times is morally wrong, abhorent and should be made unlawful. This is a conflict of interest.

Additional Information

Transparency is needed more than ever right now. Trust in the government/parliament is low and the public need to have faith in how they are being governed, especially during a pandemic when you need the public on board. The awarding of contracts to donors, friends etc.. has angered the public this must be addressed. It smells like corruption at the highest levels and this must be debated.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the possibility of corruption, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Hold a public inquiry into Government contracts granted during Covid-19: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/328408

Hold a public inquiry into spending on test and trace: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/555502

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
