Properties that have had an offer excepted will have the STLD holiday honoured

Petition Details

If a property has had an offer excepted within the STLD holiday period (8th July 2020 to 31st March 2021) then Stamp duty land tax should be honoured even if completion hasn’t been completed before the 1st April 2021.

Additional Information

The government have given this holiday period and both estate agents and solicitors are now overwhelmed with work causing it unlikely for people to be able to be completed.
A lot of people have decided to move within this period due to the holiday and it seems unfair to take that away from anyone who otherwise may not be able to afford the move if the stamp duty comes back into effect.
In these uncertain times many of us have purchased houses at inflated prices with a stamp duty exempt in mind.
